Strengthening Ties with Local Boards of Health

In response to the Governor's directive to reduce expenses and to restrict travel to trips essential to conducting business, the State Board of Health has made some tough choices about the way we do business. Beginning in 2002, the board engaged in a project to strengthen ties with local boards of health by traveling to all counties in Washington to attend their regular meetings. To cut travel expenses, the board put a hold on attending those meetings until the budget allows. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to resuming that meeting participation at the earliest possible opportunity.
