Thank you for your interest in the Local Board of Health Composition rule project, and for attending the recent State Board of Health (Board) Listening Session. Staff made changes to the draft rules based on the feedback you provided. The draft rules and the current version of the informal draft includes comments we received during the first informal comment period, including comments from the Listening Session, webform, emails and individual conversations

We are considering holding a virtual Report Out Session as part of our community outreach to review these changes with interested persons in January. Would you please let us know if you or your community would be interested in attending a Report Out Session? Contact information is provided at the bottom of this announcement. Additionally, there are other engagement opportunities for the Local Board of Health Composition rule that we want you to know about:

  • Staff will provide an update on the rule project at the Board’s public meeting on January 12, 2022. Meeting materials will be posted to the Board’s website by 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2022. You can share your comments with the Board during the public comment period. Meeting details are available on the meeting web page.
  • The second informal draft rule is open for public comment until Friday, January 14, 2022. Full details about the rule are available on the rule web page, including information on how to submit your comments.
  • We are beginning work on creating guidance materials for the Local Boards of Health around how to implement this rule. If you would like to be involved in the process, please email LBOHComposition@sboh.wa.gov expressing your interest.

Please note that timelines mentioned in this email are still tentative and may change. If you have any questions, please email LBOHComposition@sboh.wa.gov. More information is available on the Local Board of Health Composition rule web page.
