Open for Formal Comments: Prenatal Tests – Congenital and Heritable Disorders

Washington’s Prenatal Tests – Congenital and Heritable Disorders rule sets forth screening and diagnostic tests as standards of medical necessity for use certain insurers, health care service contractors, and health maintenance organizations when authorizing requests for claims, without the requirement for a case by case determination.

The draft rule is now open for formal comments. The proposed rule seeks to bring the Board’s rule into alignment with national standards of care and current best practices, as well as improve the clarity and usability of the rule. You may provide your comments on the draft rule through the following ways:
