Vital Records Rulemaking Delegation


The State Board of Health (Board) can make rules about the information doctors and others must collect for certain parts of birth and fetal death records. These records are also known as vital records. WAC 246-491-029 contains the Board's rule with these requirements. The Board gave the Department of Health (Department) the ability to update this rule in November 2022. The Department wanted to update the rule to match recent laws and national standards.
