Governor Inslee Appoints Peter Browning to State Board of Health

The State Board of Health Welcomes Newest Member Peter Browning

Tumwater, WA – January 2, 2025 – Governor Jay Inslee has appointed Peter Browning, Skagit County Commissioner, to the Washington State Board of Health (Board). He fills the position of an elected official who represents state counties and is a member of a local board of health.

Member Browning was first elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 2020. Prior to his election, he worked as Executive Director of the Burlington Edison Chamber of Commerce and previously worked as a Director in the Skagit County Health Department. He also serves as Skagit Regional Health Commissioner.

My 25 years in public health are, to date, the most meaningful in my professional career. With good health, your opportunities are endless. I am excited to have this opportunity,” said Member Browning.

Member Browning’s health and business background brings a unique perspective to the Board. In addition to his work experience, he has served terms with the boards of Skagit Rotary, United Way of Skagit County, Northwest Incident Command, United General Hospital Quality Control Team, and the Skagit County Substance Abuse board
