The HIR on SSB 5171 was updated on November 21, 2023 to resolve a minor discrepancy.
2023
The initial HIR request was for SB 5982, Concerning alcohol concentration (2022 Legislative Session). Prior to completing the review, SB 5002, Concerning alcohol concentration, was prefiled for the 2023 Legislative Session, and Senator Liias requested that we complete the review on SB 5002.
The initial HIR request was for draft bill H-0184.3/23 - Reducing the risks of harm associated with gun violence by clarifying and updating laws. Prior to completing the review, HB 1562, Reducing the risks of lethality and other harm associated with gun violence, gender-based violence, and other types of violence, was introduced for the 2023 Legislative Session, and Senator Dhingra requested that we complete the review on HB 1562. The final Health Impact Review is for HB 1562.
Prior to completing the review, Senator Trudeau requested that we complete the Health Impact Review on Substitute Senate Bill 5434.
Prior to the completion of the HIR, this request was withdrawn by Senator Liias.
2022
Prior to completing the review, Representative Simmons requested that we complete the Health Impact Review on Proposed 3SHB 1412.
Prior to completing the review, Representative Pollet requested that we complete the Health Impact Review on the Substitute version of the bill.
2021
The original Health Impact Review request was on SSB 6128 (2020 Legislative Session), Extending coverage during the postpartum period. Prior to the completion of the HIR, the proposal was prefiled and assigned a bill number. The final HIR is of SB 5068.
The HIR on HB 1047 was updated on January 21, 2021 to reflect current bill language and sponsorship.
After submitting the Health Impact Review request for H.0290.1, the request was scoped to assess only provisions outlined in Section 2. Prior to completion of the HIR, the proposal was prefiled and assigned a bill number. The final HIR is of provisions related to Section 2 of HB 1191.
The HIR on SB 5122 was updated on January 21, 2021 to resolve a data discrepancy.
Prior to beginning work on this review, the request was moved to the 2021 interim. The HIR on HB 1312 was updated on September 9, 2021 to include newly released data from Department of Corrections.
Prior to completing the HIR, Representative Pollet requested that the review use a tax rate of 33% as proposed in 1550 AMH FIN HARA 287. The proposed amendment changes the vapor products tax rate from 45% (as proposed in the original bill) to 33%. The amendment was proposed, but not yet adopted, at the time this HIR was completed.
2020
The original Health Impact Review request was on H-3400.2/20 2nd Draft. Prior to the completion of the HIR, the proposal was assigned a bill number. The final HIR is of House Bill 2387.
The original Health Impact Review request was on draft bill H-3483.1/20. Prior to the completion of the HIR, Representative Kilduff requested that Board of Health staff review the second draft of the bill (H-3483.2/20) rather than the first draft. Once the bill was introduced, the HIR was updated with the final bill number and sponsors.
The original Health Impact Review request was on S-5088.3. Prior to the completion of the HIR, the proposal was assigned a bill number. The final HIR is of Senate Bill 6128.
2019
Prior to the completion of the HIR, a substitute bill was adopted by the House Committee on Health Care & Wellness. Governor Inslee requested that Board of Health staff review the substitute rather than the original bill.
2018
Prior to the completion of the HIR, a substitute bill was adopted by the House Committee on Public Safety. Representative Hayes requested that Board of Health staff review the substitute bill rather than the original bill
